PARKING LOTS

 CAMPUS PARKING LOT

With the support of a green infrastructure grant, the 4-acre main campus parking lot will be rebuilt with permeable paving to retain the stormwater currently discharged into Long Island Sound. Bioswales at the west end of the lot aid in stormwater depollution and combine with a planted promenade to link the College entrance with its central quadrangle.

AIRPORT CARGO TERMINAL PARK

The park for cargo employees combines woods and lawns separated by walkways linking the parking lot and the terminal. The wooded areas double as stormwater retention basins, fed in part by the car park bioswales.

AIRPORT PARKING GROVE

The parking lot makes a verdant setting for the passenger terminal.  The grid of 20-year old shade trees will be in-filled and expanded to the new parking areas and bus stations to create a grove with shaded walkways. Permeable pavement is introduced for rainwater infiltration.
